828,262. Fairleads. AVELING-BARFORD Ltd. June 2, 1958 [June 4, 1957], No. 17699/57. Class 78 (5). A fairlead for a dragline crane has sheaves 17, 18 carried by frame 15, the shank 12 of which is rotatably carried by fixture 14 mounted on the turntable of the crane, and the fairlead is biased. As shown, sheave 18 is made heavier than sheave 17 so that the fairline tends towards the vertical position.
