Abstract
825,137. Current measurement. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. July 16, 1956 [July 14, 1955], No. 22007/56. Addition to 759,047 and modified by 767,542. Class 37. Current measuring apparatus utilizing semiconductor members exhibiting Hall effect in response to a magnetic field developed by the current as in the parent Specification, comprises a magnetic circuit 3, 4 (Figs. 1a, 1b) of material having a linear magnetization characteristic curve surrounding a conductor 5 carrying the current, with at least two air gaps and disposed therein semi-conducting Hall plates 1, 2 of an AIII, Bv compound as defined in the above Specification. The latter are traversed by the field in the magnetic circuit proportional to the conductor current and by stabilized constant auxiliary direct currents I s1 , I s2 in a direction normal thereto, while direct measurement voltages U h1 , U h2 appear across electrodes whose axes are normal to the axes of the magnetic field and the auxiliary current feed plate, which are screened across load resistors 9, 10 for application to a measuring instrument (not shown) indicating the current in conductor 5. The apparatus is stated to be free from errors due to stray fields from neighbouring current conductors.
