A gas shielded arc welding torch has a curved wire guide 7 which imparts a permanent curvature to the electrode wire, and a gas nozzle 5 the exit portion 6 of which is set at an angle to the axis of the torch. The torch is used for welding circumferential fins 10 to a tube 11. The curved wire guide has a wear-resistant insert 8 and is of conductive or ceramic material.
