Abstract
821,589. Tobacco pipes. WANG, W. July 26, 1957, No. 23673/57. Class 130. On inhaling, smoke passes as a jet from a nozzle 34 axially through a cone 40 into water 58 before being drawn down a tube 22 into a stem liner 16, but gases exhaled through the pipe pass above the water surface directly from the tube 22 to the cut-away sides of the cone 40. The liner 16 has discs 56 alternately cut away on opposite sides to form a sinuous passage communicating at 54 with the mouthpiece bore. The member 30 is metallic. In a modification, the cone 40 is replaced by a solid-walled chamber 60, Fig. 5, containing silica gel, and having outlets 67.
