Abstract

820,816. Knitting-machines. MORAT F., [trading as MORAT, K.G., F.]. Jan. 21, 1957 [Jan. 19, 1956; March 26, 1956], No. 2208/57. Class 74 (2). At least one of the legs of the frame of a circular machine is formed as a housing and divided into compartments 2<SP>1</SP>-8<SP>1</SP>, closed by doors and cover-plates 2-8, the motor 9 and gearing 10 being housed in the compartment 7<SP>1</SP>, the main patterning apparatus in the compartment 2<SP>1</SP> and the electrical control apparatus in the compartment 4<SP>1</SP>, this last apparatus being actuated through buttons 22 mounted in the cover 4. The patterning apparatus comprises a jacquard card, or a tape 11 guided by rollers 12-16 mounted on an assembly 17, 18, 20, which can be swung out of the compartment into a position L. The tape is stepped along by a lever 24 periodically reciprocated by the machine. Small spare parts are housed in the compartment 5<SP>1</SP> and tools in the compartment 3<SP>1</SP>. The compartments are sealed off from one another and from the outside, to be watertight, dust-proof and airtight and are sound-proofed by lining with rubber or the like. The motor compartment may have ventilation apparatus, including a dust filter.
