820,311. Two-stroke engines; cooling pumps. ANDERBERG, A. E. Aug. 31, 1955 [Aug. 31, 1954; Nov. 26, 1954]. No. 25058/55. Class 7(2) [Also in Group XXXV] The moving member of a generator is reciprocated by engine pistons in cylinders supported on the two end members of the generator with intervening scavenging air cylinders containing pistons for sucking air in and blowing it out to cool the combustion cylinders and hinder transfer cf heat from the cylinders to the generator. The two engine parts are similar. Fuel-air mixture is applied to inlet 12 and as piston 4a approaches the righthand end of its stroke is passed through conduit 14 to the combustion chamber 10, the exhaust aperture 16 also becoming exposed at this time. Movement of the scavenging pistcn 9 causes reciprocations of air through apertures 19 to give the desired cooling effect.
