Abstract
820,209. Magnetic amplifier switching circuits. SIEMENS EDISON SWAN Ltd. Nov. 2, 1956 [Nov. 4, 1955], No. 31636/55. Class 40 (9). Current from an alternating current source ACS is caused to flow in a selected one of one hundred loads in response to the flow of direct current in the control windings of one of ten magnetic amplifiers A1 to A10 and one of ten magnetic amplifiers B1 to B10, the two magnetic amplifiers chosen having alternating current windings individual to the load to be selected which are arranged in series with that load and the source ACS. Thus, to select the load RL1, direct current is caused to flow in windings A1/c and B1/c whereupon the windings A1/1 and B1/1 exhibit low impedance and A.C. flows in RL1; all the other loads, being in series with at least one A.C. winding which exhibits high impedance, pass substantially no current.
