820,186. Lathe-details. HORSTMANN & SHERWEN Ltd. Feb. 3, 1958 [March 4, 1957], No. 7085/57. Class 83 (3). A tool-rest for woodworking and like lathes comprises a split-sleeve 3, adapted to be clamped to a bar-like bed-member 1. A pair of clamping- lugs 6, 7 project from the sleeve, the upper-one of which supports a shoe 10 having a part-cylindrical seating to support the end 14 of a tool-rest 12. The end of the latter is shaped to fit the seating and is slotted to give clearance to a clamping-screw 4 which passes up through the lugs and shoe and screws into a nut 15 in the form of a short-bar enclosed by the shapedend of the tool-rest. A handle 5 is secured to the screw 4, and by swivelling the shoe 10 prior to clamping, the rest 13 may be aligned with tapered workpieces.
