Abstract

819,613. Moulding valve-operating members. PRECISION VALVE CORPORATION. Aug. 15, 1957 [Nov. 8, 1956], No. 25750/57. Class 87(2). [Also in Groups XXVIII and XXIX] The integral valve operating button and outlet for a container of pressurized material is made of pressure moulded polyethylene in a die comprising a female part 1, Fig. 7, with a cavity 2 and a constricted inlet 4, a male part 5 embodying a core with a lower cylindrical portion 6, and an upper slotted part with flat parallel sides. An inclined bore 11 in the die 1 houses a retractable core 12 carrying a pin that is slidable in a passage 11a in the core 12 and has a flange 14, Fig. 1, urged against a seat by a spring 15. The outer end of the pin is rigid with a core 16 that has an internal bore, shown dotted, and an external frusto-conical part 18, leading to cylindrical portions 19, 20 between which latter are recesses 21, 22 forming circumferontially spaced helical ribs 23, 24. The outer diameter of the core 16 is the same as the width of the slot 7, Fig. 7, and the die parts are assembled as shown prior to moulding. (See also Group XXIX).
