Abstract

817,850. Laminates. SULLIVAN, G. C. June 25, 1957 [May 20, 1957], No. 20011/57. Class 140. [Also in Group XXI] A forearm for a gun comprises a tubular member 13 of laminated construction having a core or central layer 10 of low density cellular material, e.g. a foam plastic such as isocyanate, an outer skin 15 of moulded fibre glass and an inner layer 14 of metal foil. Air vents 11 are provided in the forearm. The metal foil 14 reflects heat into the cooling chamber 16 and the layer 10 has good thermal insulating properties. The forearm is moulded with corrugations 17.
