Abstract

A ferrous alloy suitable for use in the construction of brake discs has the following composition. C 0.20 to 0.25 per cent. Mn 0.30 to 0.50 per cent. Si 0.50 to 0.80 per cent, P not over 0.04 per cent. S not over 0.04 per cent. Cr 1.75 to 2.25 per cent. Mo 0.90 to 1.10 per cent. V 0.45 to 0.65 per cent. Fe the balance.
