Abstract
813,707. Door handles. SUNDAW PRODUCTS Ltd. Aug. 12, 1957 [Aug. 23, 1956], No. 25726/56. Class 44 A separate and detachable insert a for use within a hollow back plate b of a door handle d, for the spring mounting and stop control thereof, comprises a plate or disc-like member having a central aperture for the passage of the knob or handle spindle, a circular flange a<SP>3</SP> for insertion in the aperture of the back plate, four prongs a<SP>1</SP> which are adapted to bear against or co-operate with the inner surfaces the side walls of the back plate to prevent rotation and for general location purposes and means on the plate or disclike member for locating the extremity of a spring c associated with the handle spindle. As shown, the spring c is secured at one end to the handle stub d' and at the other end oo-operates with projections a<SP>4</SP> on the disc a. A cover plate e is secured to the stub d' by a wire e<SP>1</SP> and a slot in the disc a limits rotary movement of the handle d.
