Abstract
811,955. Supply systems for X-ray apparatus; rectifying. PHILIPS ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Feb. 14, 1957 [Feb. 17, 1956], No. 5098/57. Classes 38 (2) and 38 (4). In an X-ray apparatus wherein an X-ray tube 8 is connected to the alternating current supply 4 by means of a highvoltage transformer 5 the voltage peaks during the negative half cycles of the supply are reduced by the provision of an element such as a rectifier 6 shunted by an impedance 7 of the non-linear type. The impedance 7 may be a silicon carbide element or a glow discharge tube.
