811,196. Vehicle couplings. KARNATH, K. J. March 19, 1957 [March 26, 1956; May 8, 1956], No. 9027/57. Class 103(5) A coupling has a fixed hook 2 and a shank 1 on which is slidable a sleeve 4 to which the bolt 5 is attached. Automatic coupling is effected by the eye 6 of the trailer pushing back the bolt 5 against the action of the spring 3 and disengagement is effected by the lever 9 pivoted at 10 and which acts through pins 16 to withdraw the sleeve 4 and bolt 5. The guide 7 for the trailer eye may be fixed or in part movable and means may be provided for holding the sleeve in its extreme position.
