Abstract

810,441. Suction cleaners. ELECTROLUX Ltd. May 2, 1955 [May 19, 1954], No. 12627/55. Classes 8(1). Around openings 15, 16, Figs. 16, 17 at each end of a tubular housing 10 of a motor fan suction cleaner of the inside bag type are arranged front and rear frames 26, 27 which when secured to the housing 10 serve to clamp runners 25. The end frames 26, 27 are held by screws 33, 34 to internal ribs 11, 13, Fig. 1, and have longitudinal grooves 40 . . . 43 engaging tongues 36, 38 and 37, 39 (not shown), of the runners 25. The latter have feet 49 . . . 52, 55, Fig. 3 (not shown), located with respect to the centre of gravity of the cleaner and with respect to the switch 22 that on pressing the latter the cleaner remains in equilibrium on an uneven floor. A transverse bar 56 connecting upper arms of the front frame 26 provides a handle 57 and a lip 64 provides a hand grip for standing the cleaner on the rear end frame 27. A detachable front cover plate 17 is held against a gasket on the rib 11 by a U-shaped lever 68 pivoted to the cover and engaging cam surfaces 67 of frame members 66 whereas a rear cover plate 18 having a blower hose connection 111 is held by a screw bolt 110 to a plate 23 supporting a bacteria filter disc 24.
