810,333. Electric liquid level indicators. BENDIX AVIATION CORPORATION. Oct. 3, 1956 [Oct. 3, 1955], No. 30170/56. Class 40 (1). In a liquid level indicating device the liquid level is converted into a representation by a combination of markings on a number of leads L1 to L7 (by a conventional brush-sensed monophylic coding disc), which representation is transmitted, by means not described, to a distant point where it is first remanifested by a receiver 24 as an identical combination of markings on a corresponding set of leads L<SP>1</SP>1 to L<SP>1</SP>7, and then used to control a number of relays which, in turn, cause one of a set of eleven lamps 13 to be illuminated, to represent inches, and one of a set of eight lamps 15 to be illuminated to represent eighths of inches. In this way the advantages of monophylic coding are preserved and a final visual indication in inches and eighths of inches is provided.
