Class 17 (2) [Also in Group VIII] A method of moulding and fluid-treating skins, particularly in the production of shoe uppers, comprises treating untanned skin with an aqueous solution of an inorganic or mineral tanning agent and subsequently dehydrating by means of an inert water miscible organic solvent such as acetone. Fluid pressure is applied to the skin supported on a surface of plaster of Paris or wool felt in an apparatus similar to that claimed and described in Specification 726,828. Specifications 726,777 and 755,969 [Group VIII] also are referred to.
