807,612. Ventilating apparatus. TUCKER, F. N. Jan. 13, 1956 [Oct. 14, 1954], No. 29682/54. Class 137 [Also in Group XIII] Ventilation apparatus, e.g. for a room, comprises a cooler 2 and a smaller heater 3 connected in a conventional type of refrigerant circulation system, having a reversible compressor 1, the cooler 2, of larger heat exchange capacity than the heater 3, being housed in a duct 11, through which outside air is circulated by a centrifugal fan 10, and the heater 3 being arranged in a duct 12 through which an axial flow type fan 10a circulates room air. A fixed restrictor 19, in parallel with a spring loaded pressure control device 16, controls the flow of refrigerant to the low pressure side of the circuit. A spring- loaded modulator 17 is connected in a feedback line 18 to relieve the pressure head of the compressor 1, the line 18, which becomes hot, being used to super-heat the refrigerant entering the low pressure side of the compressor. If the apparatus is used to cool air in the room, the outdoor air is passed over the cooler 2 and then into the room, flap valves, not shown, being provided in the ducts to control the flow of air. Filters, such as 14, may be arranged in the ducts
