Abstract

806,844. Ear protectors. NATIONAL RESEARCH DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION. July 2, 1957 [July 9, 1956], No. 21168/56. Class 81 (2). An ear protector comprises a manuallyoperable obturator for closing a sound passage into the ear. A base-plate 11, with a sealing cushion 10 around its periphery, has holes adjacent the ear orifice which may be closed by a rotatable apertured disc 16. The disc is rotatable by a collar 18 and pressure is maintained by a coil spring, as shown, or by a dished, starspring. A detachable cover 13 may be provided.
