Abstract
804,128. Cable terminations; mechanical couplings for cable sheathing or covering. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Jan. 10, 1957 [Jan. 10, 1956], No. 1032/57. Classes 36 and 38 (1). Cable fittings such as end sleeves and trifurcating boxes are secured to the sheath of a gasfilled cable 2 by a tube 3 soft soldered at one end to the sheath and turned back at the other end to form a trough 5 into which the fitting 1 is sealed. The fitting may be soft soldered to the trough, or the trough may be filled with a self-setting resin which may be extended over the outer edge of the trough.
