Abstract
The invention comprises 17a ,21-dihydroxy-4, 9(11)-pregnadiene-3,20-dione 21-(2-chloro-4-, nitrobenzoate) and a process for the production thereof which comprises reacting 11a ,17a ,21-trihydroxy-4-pregnene-3,20-dione with o-chlorop-nitrobenzoyl chloride to obtain 17a ,21-dihydroxy - 4, 9(11) - pregnadiene - 3,20 - dione-(2-chloro-4-nitrobenzoate). In an example the dehydration and esterification are effected in pyridine.ALSO:17,21 - Dihydroxy - 4,9(11) - pregnadiene-3,20 - dione 21 - (2 - chloro - 4 - nitrobenzoate) is incorporated in pharmaceutical compositions such as tablets, lotions, ointments, injectables and elixirs.
