Abstract

802,499. Packages. IVERS-LEE CO. Dec. 18, 1956 [Aug. 13, 1956], No. 38537/56. Class 94(1). A package comprises an inner container of flexible thermoplastic or thermoplastic coated material secured at one edge to a cover sheet, the cover sheet having a closure flap with a tongue which is sealed to a margin of the container through an aperture in the cover sheet. The container may be formed by two sheets sealed to enclose articles 5 in individual compartments, and have a margin 7 which is secured between parts 8 and 10 of the cover sheet by a longitudinal seal 11. The seal 11 also secures the closure flap tongue 14 to the margin 7. The tongue 14 may be folded, as shown, to embrace the edge of the margin 7 and be exposed by cutout portions 18a, 18b. Alternatively it may be secured to one side only of the margin and only the cut out 18a will then be required. The tongue and/or container may have weakening lines to facilitate opening of the package and removal of the contents or inner container.
