Abstract
801,334. Fluid flow meters. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Oct. 26, 1956 [Oct. 27, 1955], No. 32731/56. Class 40 (1). A fluid flow meter consists of a curved tube 18 and 19 free at one end with strain gauges 23 and 24 attached to the tube at 22 (where the walls are thinner than elsewhere) near its fixed end. The curved tube changes the direction of flow and the reactive forces so set up are measured by the strain gauges which are ineluded in a bridge circuit. A weight 28 is loosely fastened to the free end of the curved tube to eliminate resonance.
