Abstract
800,181. Counting-apparatus. PARKINSON & COWAN, Ltd. Oct. 21, 1955 [July 22, 1954], No. 21435/54. Class 106 (1). [Also in Group XXXIX] A counter comprises at least two selector switches interconnected by transfer mechanism and associated with a read-out scanning device. The lower order switch comprises a wiper A Figs. 1 and 2, which has a lost-motion connection with its driving means. When the wiper A, moving in the forward direction, bridges the contacts " 9 " and " 0," the switch F, G is closed to energize a solenoid E, the armature C, D of which pushes the wiper A on to the contact " 0." In the same way when the wiper A is moving in the reverse direction it is quickly moved from the " 0 " contact to the "9" contact. The snap movement of the wiper may be effected magnetically by a coil.
