Abstract

799,932. Doors for passenger vehicles. BECKETT, LAYCOCK & WATKINSON, Ltd. April 6, 1956 [April 6, 1955], No. 10143/55. Class 103(2) A pivotal and slidable vehicle door is provided with a pivotal support spaced away from the forward edge of the door and a second pivotal support at or near the rear edge of the door, both supports being slidable'in guideways for all positions of the door. In the construction shown in Figs. 4 and 5, an offside door 111 of the cab of a vehicle is supported by a front pivotal bracket 112 offset from the door and able to slide along a guide track 113, and a rear pivotal bracket 114 able to slide along a guide track 115. The lower edge of the door is provided with a spring roller-guide 124 for engaging a guide track 126 and a spring roller-guide 125 for engaging a guide track 127.
