799,679. Liquid fuel fired boilers; oil stoves; dampers. LOVEGREEN, A. T. Jan. 15, 1957 [Anril 13, 1956], No. 11354/56. Class 126 [Also in Groups XII and XIII] An annular boiler 10 and an air-heating chamber 31 are heated (see Group XIII) by gases rising from a combustion chamber with a refractory lining 19 and hearth 32, on or above which oil is vaporied for combustion. The oil passes from a constant head tank through a pipe 42 and tap 41, controlled by a knob 40, to a nozzle 43 in a tube 39 spider-supported in a large air tube 14 down which the oil falls in a thin stream. The flow of air down the tube 14 is controlled by disc-damper 44 sliding on the tube 39 so as to be raisable by the use of a bifurcated wedge 47 operated by an external handle 51. An inner casing 17 surrounds the boiler and forms a space 21 above it from which flues 23 pass through the air-heating chamber 31. The inner casing also forms the combustion chamber which is closed at the bottom by a removable cup 33 having a ring handle and bearing the hearth and adjustable for height since slots 36, Fig. 4, in the cup coact with radial projection 34 on the outside of the inner casing 17. A tube with a sight glass 54 normally closes a tube 53 which is used for the insertion of a taper when the heater is started by the use of paraffin oil.
