Abstract
798,554. Mineral-mining machines. GEB. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGUSSIEREI. April 7, 1955 [May 8, 1954], No. 10256/55. Class 68(1) [Also in Group XXX] Cut coal is loaded from the working face in a mine on to a face conveyer 2 by pushers 14 connected between a pair of chains 12, 13 running around a housing 11 in parallel planes one above the other, the pushers being disposed in substantially vertical position to convey the coal up a sloping plate 6 on to the conveyer. The plate 6 is provided with a rail 5 sliding on the stationary structure of the conveyer, and which is connected by a link 4 to a coal cutter (not shown) whereby it follows the latter along the face. The coal is scooped on to the plate 6 by a ramp 16 which is connected to the plate by hinges 7, 8. The pushers extend upwards beyond the housing 11 and have cutter teeth 15 secured to them in staggered positions. Alternatively trapezoidal plates may be secured to the pushers, adapted to sweep the entire space between the face and the adjacent end of the housing 11. Projections 17, 18 attached to the ends of rail 5 engage below the conveyer 2 and hold the rail down on the conveyer structure.
