Abstract

797,766. Strips of staples. TELECRAFT, Ltd. Nov. 8, 1956 [Nov. 17, 1955], No. 32923/55. Class 89(2) A strip of staples comprises a length 6, Fig. 1, of insulating-material carrying a number of staples 5, each staple-bearing block 7 being connected to an adjacent block by a thin web 8. The staples may extend either transversely or longitudinally of the strip and be either U- or J- shaped. The backs may abut the uppersurfaces of the blocks or be sunk below said surfaces. In another arrangement, the strip is moulded about the backs of the staples, and may have a convex upper surface 12, Fig. 3, and a concave portion 13 between the legs 5a. The material may be polythene or a polyvinyl synthetic-resin. In use, individual blades, each with its staple, are torn off the strip, before or after insertion of the staple in the work.
