Abstract

795,672. Making electrodes; welding by fusion; soldering. BRITISH OXYGEN CO., Ltd. April 5, 1956 [April 7, 1955], No. 10255/55. Classes 83 (2) and 83 (4). In flux-coated continuous electrodes in which a core 1 is enclosed by wires 2, 5 crossing to form a mesh, the wires are secured together at all or the majority of the crossing points 10 by brazing. The inner wires 2 may be brazed to the core 1. The wires 2, 5 and if desired the core 1 are coated with copper and the assembled electrode is passed through a tubular furnace of the high-frequency induction type in a neutral or reducing atmosphere to effect brazing. Specification 584,299 is referred to.
