Abstract

795,336. Electromagnetic switches. BOSCH GES., R. Aug. 27, 1956 [Sept. 1, 1955], No. 26071/56. Class 38 (5). Energization of a coil 20 attracts a plunger 17 against the bias of a return spring 25 acting between a magnetic plate 11, forming part of the iron circuit, and a collar 24 on the plunger. The plunger extension 19 slidably and tiltably carries a bridging contact 26 having a rubber ring 27 encircling the extension and biased against the collar 24 by a spring 33, and an arm 29 insulatedly connected to the contact is slotted at 30 to co-operate with a spring-biased lever 15, such that the arm 29 is arrested by the lever step 31 causing tilting of the contact 26 until it engages the upper fixed contact 12. When the arm is unlatched by raising the lever 15 the contact 26 moves to engage the lower fixed contact 13. The ring 27 reduces wear between the contact 26 and extension 19.
