Abstract

To improve surface conductivity, a waveguide is subjected to a chemical-dip brightening process. A suitable process for aluminium or aluminium-alloy waveguides utilizes the following solution: ..by volume .Phosphoric acid (s.g. 1.75).78 per cent .Nitric acid (s.g. 1.42).11 per cent .Sulphuric acid (s.g. 1.84).11 per cent to each litre of which is added 0.86 grms. of ferrous sulphate (FeSO4.7H2O). The waveguide is immersed in this solution at a temperature of 95 DEG -100 DEG C. for 15-60 seconds
