Abstract

794,324. Thermionic valves. TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L. M. ERICSSON. Sept. 5, 1956 [Sept. 8, 1955], No. 27222/56. Class 39(1). In a discharge tube of the kind in which the electrodes are supported by insulated centering plates having holes into which are inserted the electrodes or parts attached thereto the cathode is located in one particular hole 2, Fig. 1 for a rectangular cathode or 2, Fig. 2, for one of circular cross-section and another electrode e.g. the grid is provided with lugs 5 which fit into and are located by recesses 3 formed around the periphery of the hole 2, the other electrode being resilient so that each lug tends to be forced into its respective recess, the arrangement being such that the relative position of the cathode and grid or other electrode is fixed. The lugs may be parts of a band welded to the other electrode.
