793,832. Bolting. HUME PIPE & CONCRETE CONSTRUCTION CO, Ltd. Nov. 26, 1956 [Jan. 20, 1956], No. 2009/56. Class 89(1) [Also in Group XXII] A device for clamping together two plates, flanges &c. a, g, Fig. 1, comprises a bolt c secured to one plate &c. a by a nut o and having a head d larger than the hole in plate a and smaller than the hole in plate g. A two-part washer h is positioned under the bolt-head after assembly of the plates, and the nut is tightened. The washer has bevels k, m engaging countersinks in plate g and the bolt-head, to urge the washerparts against the bolt-shank. In another arrangement, the washer-parts are extended by shrouds p, q, Fig. 3.
