Abstract

791,282. Ladders. EVANS, L., and EVANS, L. R. L. '[trading as LENSON ENGINEERING CO.]. Jan. 6, 1956 [Jar 17, 1955], No. 1364/55. Class 20(2): A ladder comprises a skeleton framework of two side frames 1, 2 supporting between them treads 8 and a top platform 11, a hand rail 13 on one or both sides, the framework being supported on two or more castors 22 and having a four point mounting on the ground. The treads 8 are also fixed to two parallel inclined tubes 7. Cross tubes 19, 20, 21 connect the side frames and hand rails. Two castors 23 or in a modification four castors are spring-mounted and support the steps when unweighted for wheeling about, but a person mounting the steps will compress the spring mountings and engage rubber feet 28 with the ground. In a modification a work table for tools s hinged to a cross tube 21.
