Abstract

786,548. Motor vehicle frames. DAIMLERBENZ AKT.-GES. Nov. 18, 1955 [Nov. 25, 1954], No. 33090/55. Class 79 (4) In a motor vehicle frame a transverse member penetrates the full depth of webs 15a, 16a of longitudinal members, the upper and lower chords 15, 19 of which are of closed box section. As shown each longitudinal member further comprises, adjacent suspension springs 38, an upper boxsectioned member 16 and a lower box-sectioned member 20. The upper and lower members are interconnected by vertical struts 17, 18 adjacent the transverse frame member which comprise plates 8, 8a closed at the top by a plate 12 and at the bottom by a member 11. The ends of the plates 8, 8a project between the struts 17, 18 and receive bracket members 21 to an under surface of each of which is secured a suspension spring bearing member 37. The parts are welded together.
