Abstract

785,579. Dashpots. CLEVITE CORPORATION. Feb. 6, 1956 [Feb. 15, 1955], No. 3607/56. Class 108(3) [Also in Group XXXVII] A dashpot comprises a member 52 received with clearances of capillary dimensions in a sleeve 51 formed on a contact arm 31 (see Group XXXVII), the spaces between the coupling members being filled with a viscous fluid, e.g. a silicone liquid. The coupling is such that normal rapid movements of a driving member 11 are communicated to the contact arm, but slow movements of member 11. due, e.g. to temperature variations or movement of its mountings, are not communicated due to slipping of parts 51, 52 relatively to each other.
