785,446. Fluid-actuated valves. KOPPERS GES., H. April 12, 1954 [May 18, 1953], No. 10727/54. Class 135. A liquid delivery means comprises an elevated container, and a valve 12 in the container gravity discharge conduit 6 urged open or closed by hydrostatic pressure upstream of and acting on the valve, and to its other position by the hydrostatic pressure acting on valve operating means, e.g. diaphragm 29, under the control of a valve 36. The diaphragm lifts a rod 27 and counter-balanced lever 37 external to the conduit to lift the valve through the spindle 20 and lever 18 within the conduit. The threeway control valve 36 opens the diaphragm chamber 35 to exhaust and allows the valve 12 to close or open the valve by connecting chamber 35 to pipe 7 leading to the elevated container. The valve has a covering of resilient material.
