Abstract

784,657. Coating webs. JAGENBERGWERKE AKT.-GES. Aug. 18, 1955 [Aug. 30, 1954], No. 23813/55. Addition to 743,768. Class 140. An improvement or modification of the invention claimed in the parent Specification comprises independent compressed air streams produced and supplied both for the nozzle located in the working position and also for that in the rest or cleaning position so that a fall of pressure of the spreader air stream led to the nozzle in the working position is avoided when the cleaning air becomes operative. A compressed air pipe 1 and a coaxial air pipe 14 have curved outlets which correspond with the inlet passages of a nozzle air spreader passage 12 and cleaning passage 13. Rotating the nozzle body 3 brings the air passages into communication either with the spreader air feed or the cleaning air feed. Adjusting screws 18 regulate the width of the nozzle lips 17. Independent sources or the same source of compressed air may be used and the cleaning air when not used may be led away. The head-plate 4 of the nozzle is secured to a flange sleeve 2 pivotally mounted on the stationary pipe 1 by means of a ring 5 in the machine frame.
