784,365. Umbrellas. EICKHORN, K. H. and BREMSHEY, F., [trading as BREMSHEY & CO.]. Oct. 7, 1955 [Nov. 2, 1954], No. 28658/55. Class 134 In an umbrella in which a displaceable ring 10 mounted on the slide 4 serves to disengage the upper and lower locking springs from a slot in the slide, the ring 10 is provided with a flared extension 11 to prevent the fingers of a user from slipping beyond the ring into contact with a notched rim 5, on the slide 4, to which the stretchers are pivoted. The flared extension 11 is bent inwardly at its end 12 to provide an additional guide for the ring 10 on the slide 4 and abuts against the rim 5 when the ring 10 is in the position which allows the upper locking spring 8 mounted in the stick 1 to enter the rest in the slide 4. Movement of the ring in the other direction is limited by a flange 9 on the slide 4. The umbrella may have telescopic stick and rib sections.
