Abstract
783,735. Packages. CHARNOS, Ltd. April 3, 1956 [Sept. 19, 1955], No. 26684/55. Class 94(1). A pair of ladies' stockings 3 is laid flat as shown in Fig. 4 and a card 2, comprising panels 2a, 2b separated by a fold line, is placed over the stockings so that an arrow 6 on the panel 2a points towards the peaks 3e of the heel portions. The toe parts 3d are then folded over the panel 2a and the parts 3c are folded to and fro over the toe portions as shown in Fig. 5 so that the fold 3f is in line with an appropriate one of a series of graduations 5 on the panel 2a. These graduations enable stockings of different lengths to be folded correctly. The welts 3a are finally folded on to the panel 2b after the latter has been folded down over the parts 3c and the assembly is placed in a transparent or partially transparent bag which is printed with indications of the size and other characteristics of the stockings. These indications may include spaced length numbers on the flap of the bag and the latter may be secured by a pointer-like seal pointing to the appropriate length number. The folded card 2 may be replaced by two separate sheets, and a third sheet may be disposed between the folded parts 3c.
