783,662. Television. HAZELTINE CORPORATION. Oct. 24, 1955 [Nov. 19, 1954], No. 30354/55. Drawings to Specification. Class 40 (3). [Also in Group XL (c)] In a colour television receiver in which component colour images produced by a plurality of picture-reproducing cathode-ray tubes are combined in register on a viewing screen degradation of register due to the magnetizing effect on neighbouring iron elements (e.g. focus winding housings or magnetizable electron gun components) of current surges produced by E.H.T. voltage sparking between the anode and other tube electrodes is reduced by including currentlimiting resistors in the E.H.T. supply to the final anode of each tube. The resistors have a value of 22K. and should be of a type which is capable of withstanding the full E.H.T. voltage without momentary breakdown (during the surges) due to surface leakage. A housing for the resistors which prevents such breakdown is described. Specifications 689,356 and 773,706, [Group XL (c)], are referred to.
