783,134. Coating yarns. STEVENS, P. July 25, 1955 [July 29, 1954; July 8, 1955], No. 21407/55. Class 140. [Also in Group IX] Yarns are dyed by apparatus comprising grooved rollers 3, 4 which maintain the yarn spacing, dye baths 6 over which the yarns pass, keys 7 operated by pattern mechanism which press the yarns into the baths, and a drying chamber 31 which may be fitted with infra-red lamps. Each bath contains spongy material 19 partly immersed in the dye; alternatively, the bath may contain a roller. The baths may be subdivided into small baths.
