Abstract
782,281. Thermally - actuated valves. ROBERTSHAW - FULTON CONTROLS CO. Dec. 3, 1954 [April 22, 1954], No. 35113/54. Class 135. A thermostatic regulator comprises a valve 42 controlling fuel flow through the valve seat 38, thermal means 28 having an expansible element 32 movable axially relative to the valve seat, a plurality of valve-operating levers 54, 56 pivoted at 60 on the casing 14 and normal to the valve axis, e.g. the bi-metal 76 compensating ambient temperature changes, means operatively connecting the element 32 to the levers and yieldable override means, e.g. the spring 68, between the levers and the valve. The valve spindle 44 is adjustably screwed by the knob 24 into a member 52. When the element 76 swings the levers and closes the valve, further expansion of the thermal element swings the levers and a washer 66 against the spring 68. Lateral members 84 engage the levers and prevent the member 52 from turning during adjustment.
