Class 79(2) [Also in Group XXIV] Relatively axially movable parts 10, 14, of an articulated shaft, driven through a universal joint 42 by the differential gear 39 of a motor vehicle axle, the half-casings 31, 32 of which swing about a pivot-axis 34 attached to the superstructure through a transverse bar 35, are coupled by balls or rollers 19 between interfitting splines in the outer member 10, attached to a yoke of the universal joint 42, and an inner sleeve 13 detachably splined to the shaft 14.
