Class 141 A made-up necktie comprises a tapering tubular knot portion 12 having at its upper corners projections 13 formed with notches 16 for receiving an inverted U-shaped collar-retaining device 15, the main necktie body 29 being looped over the cross-piece 18 of the member 15. The front portion 30 of the necktie body is provided with vertically spaced fastener components 34 and the rear portion 31 has a complementary fastener component 33, so that the length of the necktie can be adjusted by selective engagement of the fasteners. The side arms of the member 15 are formed in two parts 21, 24 slidable relative to each other, the part 24 having a pointed end 23 to engage the collar and being biased downwardly by a spring 27.
