A book jacket for a replaceable note pad 7, wherein the sheets are held together by retaining means such as a coiled wire 8 which permits the first pages to be turned to lie at the rear of the pad, comprises a pair of jacket members 1, 2 connected together by a flexible strip or member 4, of a width to enable the jackets 1, 2 to be folded flat against the pad 7, and an inner member 3 adapted to serve as a carrier for the pad 7 and connected by a further flexible strip or member 4 to a free edge of one of the jacket members 2 so that it can be folded to lie between the members 1, 2, the width of the further strip 4 being sufficient to enable pages folded back from the pad to lie between the inner member 3 and the jacket member 2 without preventing the jacket members 1, 2 from being closed substantially flat on the pad. The inner member 3 is formed as a pocket 5 to receive a carrier board 6 on the pad 7. The jacket member 1 is formed with a transparent edge portion 9 through which a calendar section, printed along the edge of the sheets of the pad, can be viewed, and a groove 11 is formed around the free edges of the portion 9 so that a clip 10 may be slid along the main edge to register with a calendar section. Transparent sheets 12 are glued on the inner sides of the jacket members 1, 2 to form pockets for advertising matter 13 or the like and for cardboard sheets 14 when it is desired to stiffen the jackets. As shown in Fig. 4, the jackets may be held in a standing position by means of a thread or thin wire 15 secured at one end to the jacket member 2 and having at its free end a slotted tube 16 to be slipped onto the edge of the jacket member 1 to hold them as shown, or onto the edge of jacket member 2 when not in use. Both members 1 and 2 may have edge grooves to take the tube 16.
