Abstract

779,230. Moulded commutators. WORNER, A., and ERSING, M., [trading as KAUTT & BUX]. April 6, 1956 [April 20, 1955], No. 10544/56. Class 35. The segments of a moulded commutator are secured by reinforcing rings of glass fibres. As shown in Fig. 2, the rings 6 are located in recesses 5 at either end of the segments, and consist of glass fibres embedded in plastic, e.g. a polyester, which is hardened before or after placing in position. In the form shown in Fig. 4, the rings 8, which now consist of split tubes, are situated in a central hole 7. The tubes, which may be serrated or cemented together, are turned so that their openings do not coincide. The edges of the tubes may be notched so that they key with the moulding material.
