Abstract

777,795. Dispensing measured quantities of liquid. NAAMLOOZE VENNOOTSCHAP PHILIPS' GLOEILAMPENFABRIEKEN. Oct. 26, 1955 [Oct. 29, 1954], No. 30625/55. Class 106 (5). A device for supplying a measured quantity of liquid, such as lubricating oil, to a required point comprises a container 1, a plunger 6 adapted to close an outlet 9 when the device is not in use and having a recess 7 the capacity of which determines the measured quantity, and means to displace the plunger so that the recess is moved beyond the container and the liquid carried therein is transferred to a resilient bent pin 11 fixedly secured to the device and by means of which the liquid is applied to the required point. The plunger is secured to a rod 3 carrying a member 12 located by a ring 14 and between which and a tapered portion of the container 1 a spring 13 is interposed. To allow the container 1 to be filled when a screwed cap 2 is removed, the member 12 is a loose fit. The container 1 may be of transparent material, such as synthetic resin, and a cap (not shown) for the lower end of the container and a clamp 16 to engage a recess 5 in an operating knob 4 on the rod 3 are provided to enable the device to be carried in a pocket.
