Abstract
776,808. 'Table games. SOMSTHAM, D. K Sept. 9, 1955, No. 25853/55. Class 132(2). Apparatus for playing table cricket comprises a board 36 carrying a batting wicket 13 and a bowling wicket 42, a vertically-pivoted "bat" 41 operable by a rod held by the player, two guide channels 35, one on each side of the wicket 42, down which a glass &c. ball can be projected by a rod held by the other player, and a plurality of pockets 1 distributed over the board. Pockets 62, 64, in front of wicket 42 and behind wicket 13 respectively, are always exposed. The other pockets can each be occluded by a strip of material 2 fixed to the board by one end 5 and having its other end selectively engageable under a strip 3 for pocket occlusion and a strip 4 for pocket exposure. A stop 14 for the " bat " is provided, and the " bat " is so constructed that, in play, it can be rotated only anti-clockwise. The guide channels may be rotated about a vertical axis to vary the direction of " bowling." A horizontal bar 30 above channels 35 serves as a " no-ball " indicator if hit by the rod of the player who is " bowling."
