Abstract
776,574. Switches held set and freed mechanically. BUSCH-JAEGER DURENER METALLWERKE AKT.-GES. Feb. 23, 1955 [July 28, 1954], No. 5470/55. Class 38(5) In a switch which has a pancake shaped casing 1 a carrier plate 5 disposed in the casing carries contact levers 6 on that side of it which is nearer the base of the casing and carries terminal connections 8a 9a on the side which is nearer the cover 11. The levers 6 are spring urged by the springs 6c and are pivoted by arcuate shoe surfaces 6b bearing against pivot posts 8 which are extensions of the terminals 8a. Contacts 6d carried by the levers co-operate with fixed contacts 9 which are extensions of terminals 9a. The levers are actuated by a cam 7 which is mounted on an operating spindle of square section and which bears in a recess in the plate 5. A further cam surface and springs 4 provide a locating mechanism. The cover 11 is sealed to the casing 1 by means of a jointing compound thus ensuring a dust-tight, water-tight casing. Knock-out portions are provided for the insertion of leads. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown), the cam 7 is disposed between the base of the switch and the locating mechanism.
